What Does Christmas Mean To You
Christmas does not have the true meaning it started with over 2000 years ago. Today it is all about gifts, sales, pretty lights, and Santa Claus. When I was a child that was all Christmas was meant to me, then in my later teenage years I started to mature and understand the true meaning of Christmas.
I graduated high school from a Baptist Christian School. There I was in the choir and drama. When I turned 16 I started sensing more meaning in the music; I was Saved to Christianity when I was 13. Music with Santa Claus or Rudolph stopped meaning anything to me. Then I did not know if it was because I no longer believed in Santa or because of my Salvation. Today I am certain it is because Jesus Christ turned me away from Worldly things and pointed me towards Jesus even more.
The one song that has always touched my heart, even before my Salvation, is O Holy Night. It speaks about the birth of our Savior Jesus Christ. The night he was born it talks about a star is brightly shining. Talking about the star God made shine bright for months even years to bring the Three Wise Men to Bethlehem. One thing that is wrong in Christmas is that it shows the Wise Men at Jesus’ birth, but they were not.
Matthew 2:1-2
Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem,
2 Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him.- www.biblegateway.com
The song also talks about a divine night. O Holy Night referring to a divine night means God is there. He has full control and nothing will go wrong. The word divine means- God(N), proceeding from God (Adj), to discover or declare (something obscure or in the future) by divination; prophecy. (V) However you look at it it has God in control. Divine is a word for God.
Christmas Means To Me
I just want to remember Christ for Christmas for now on in my life. I have made a choice not to decorate christmas lights, trees, snowmen, or Santa for Christmas. I do believe in giving. Because God gave us Jesus on Christmas and Jesus died for our sins. If this had never happened it would be different today. I choose to remember Jesus Christ my Savior and your Savior as well. If you have never been Saved and wished to be Saved say this prayer and Jesus will come to your heart.
Salvation Prayer
Dear God in heaven, I come to you in the name of Jesus. I acknowledge to You that I am a sinner, and I am sorry for my sins and the life that I have lived; I need your forgiveness.
I believe that your only begotten Son Jesus Christ shed His precious blood on the cross at Calvary and died for my sins, and I am now willing to turn from my sin.
You said in Your Holy Word, Romans 10:9 that if we confess the Lord our God and believe in our hearts that God raised Jesus from the dead, we shall be saved.
Right now I confess Jesus as the Lord of my soul. With my heart, I believe that God raised Jesus from the dead. This very moment I accept Jesus Christ as my own personal Savior and according to His Word, right now I am saved.
Thank you Jesus for your unlimited grace which has saved me from my sins. I thank you Jesus that your grace never leads to license, but rather it always leads to repentance. Therefore Lord Jesus transform my life so that I may bring glory and honor to you alone and not to myself.
Thank you Jesus for dying for me and giving me eternal life. AMEN.
Salvation changes your life for greatness, just follow Christ and He will always be with you.
