Marriage Is About Love: Till Death Do Us Part…

I have believed my entire life that once a couple is married they should stay together till death. I use to believe it because the majority of people did not get a divorce, but my viewpoint has changed. I now believe it because that is what God wants for us. He has “The One” a soulmate out there for everyone. Sometimes there is hard times even with your soulmate, but that is a challenge God intends for you in life and your relationship to make you stronger.

Divorce Does Not Solve Problems It Creates More Problems

I do not remember much from when I was a child, but one thing I do remember is the day my mother came to my room and said, “We are leaving now.”. I do not remember if I knew what she was talking about or if I was scared. I believe I knew because I think I would have freaked a little. She left my father with my sister and I and went to where she now lives, at my step-dad’s.

I remember seeing my father for a few years. I also remember her and my dad complaining and fighting. When I wanted to go see my dad she would complain about calling him and for some reason my sister did not want to go. Soon enough I gave up and did not see my father for another 20 years when he picked up the phone and called me. I was so happy. I have a niece, a couple nephews, and a step-mother that isn’t too bad. Although it would be much better if I had known him when I was a child, had challenges, started dating, and guy questions. I would of felt more secure if he had been there for me. Life is complicated ain’t it!

Problems From The Past I Wish My Dad Was There For

When I was a child there was many things I wanted to do. We all have that when we are supporting-your-children-after-divorce-ages-6-through-8-16-728young. We think that we can do anything and everything in the world, but never get it all done. I wish I had it more simple. I never had a father to play catch with, to play basketball with, to play video games with, to learn how to hunt with, or just to chat with. My step-dad has been a good father don’t get me wrong. He has always provided what we needed. I learned when I grew up he spent thousands of dollars to get me a Chevy Blazer when I was in college. He has also taught me a lot about outdoor work like sawing, building, and gardening. What he did not give me was valuable personal time with a share of interest. It does not matter if it was TV shows, video games, playing cards, or board games he had no interest in any and it made me feel different and outcasted from the family.  I tried my entire high school life to earn to be part of the family and never did.

Ephesians 6:4  4And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.

Thought My Sibling Was The Competition

I was the younger of two growing up. I always felt like I was competing for attention and acceptance. I thought I had my sister to blame for that, but now I believe I was wrong. I still do not know if it was me or someone else in the family, but not feeling equal hurts.

My sister was always there for me. Sisters can be a pain, but also a superhero. 🙂

This has changed me for the better although. I use to believe that some people were better than others, I hoped I was one of the better. Then from the competition of equality at home it opened my eyes that everyone should be equal. I learned in church that God sees us all the same. The man is the head of the house, the woman is only submits to her husband, and children obey their parents. I lived that from the day I learned it in church till the day I die. There is no where in the Bible does it say that younger kids should listen to the older kids all the time. If parents put a child in charge then, no matter what the age, the other children should listen or they will be disobeying their parents.

 Ephesians 5:22-25 22 Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord. 23 For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body. 24 Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing. 25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;

Ephesians 6:1-4 Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right. 2 Honour thy father and mother; (which is the first commandment with promise;) 3 That it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth. 4 And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.

Ephesians 5:1 – 33 20 Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ; 21 Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God.22 Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord.23 For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body.24 Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so [let] the wives [be] to their own husbands in every thing.25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;26 That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,27 That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.28 So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself.29 For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as the Lord the church:30 For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones.31 For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh.32 This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church.33 Nevertheless let every one of you in particular so love his wife even as himself; and the wife [see] that she reverence [her] husband.

Now Rather Than The Past

8f8d05f9468487998cfe98fbe654b18aI believe marriage is a commitment to eternal love. Today there are so many divorces and children outside of marriage it really hurts my soul. I have a fear that one day when I get married my wife will cheat on me and end in divorce. According to Fox News, 17 percent of divorces are due to infidelity. Also about 7/10 men cheat on their wives and their wives do not know about it. This is not a commitment of eternal love. Sexual intercourse is the way God gave us to become one, to feel joined.

Genesis 2:18, 21-25  And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him.     21  And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof; 22 And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man. 23 And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man. 24 Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh. 25 And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed.

Adam’s Woman, Eve, was created from his flesh. We are all descendants from Adam and Eve. The Great Flood killed everyone and everything on Earth except for Noah and his family. He is a descendant of Adam and Eve as well, so we are as well.

We need to go back to the old times where love is the most important in life only surpassed by God the Almighty. I use to believe I would find my true love one day, but now I believe this World is so corrupt that only God can find me my soulmate. I hope he does, because once I say my vows I will never abandon my spouse no matter what!
