I have loved this song since I was a kid. My childhood was not perfect. There were times I wished I could go to a fantasy land and nothing would go wrong. When I first heard this song God was telling me one day you will have that place. A place where there is no hate, no crime, no lust, no evil, just love. It will be in Another Time, Another Place.

My Favorite Song of All Time

I have listened to Hotel California since there were 8 tracks. The first time I heard it was from my dad’s 8 track. I would sneak down to the basement and play the song. One of my first cassettes were Eagles, Hotel California. To this day I still listen to it frequently. It touches my heart and moves my soul.

I love this song because it brings back memories. It shows me why I had dreams to be successful. I have been lucky in life. I have a father and step-father they both are very stubborn and ambitious. My mother has always wondered why I am so ambitious, I truly get it from my father. I believe there is always something higher than where I am at. One day I will find that point and will have peace. Maybe I just want to live.

Ever Have A Feeling Like This

Did you ever feel like an event was coming to an end. I will give an example. Like the end of a week, leaving a job you have been at for a long time, or everything goes wrong. Well I have had a feeling on some days in my life like it was The Final Countdown. I saw a post on Facebook  today that made me think of this song and I thought I would share it with you.

I use to love Christmas every year and could not wait, then I grew up into adulthood. Now all I see is advertising, sales, and movies once a year. But the Spirit of Christmas is still out there. This is a song I sung in Choir when I was in school. I still love this song to this day. The lights make it even more awesome. Watch this it is cool.

What is the meaning of Hotel California-1976

What do you think the meaning is of Hotel California? Do you think it is tied to evil? Do you think it is about the high life in California? Well if you answered the latter then you are on the right track.

“Journey between innocence to experience.”- Don Henley

This is what Don Henley said the meaning of Hotel California truly was. There are no true myths in the song. There is even a rumor that the last line in the song, “You can check in anytime, but you may never leave.”, is referring to a place ran by cannibals. Now that’s funny. I have heard from friends that it was about an insane asylum. I guess that was because once you lose it to check in, you probably wouldn’t leave. There are speculations that the song is about satanism tied to songs to be evil. One other people believe is tied to evil is Led Zeppelin’s Stairway to Heaven.

To me Hotel California is an inspiring song. The song starts with hope, faith, or even life’s journey. It continues to talk about good and bad times in life. Finally it ends with our destiny. I think Don Henley is right on. We don’t necessary choose the journey in life, but we choose the road we take. Hotel California really lays out making choices down the road of life can be difficult and important. Once you make a decision you cannot change it, like it is at the end of the song,  “You can check in anytime, but you may never leave.”. That is what I believe. What do you believe? Meatloaf is one of my favorite artist. He truly expresses emotion in music. He is from the 70’s to the 80’s and mixes soft must with hard rock. He is one of the best ever. I especially love this song, because of the duet. Listen, watch, and feel.

Don Henley- The Heart of the Matter

I have always loved this song. It taught me what love truly meant when I was a child. Love is different in many ways. There is family love, passionate love, and eternal love.  I had lost a girlfriend, a family member, and just became a Christian when I heard this song for the first time. It was a message sent to me by God. It explained to me that there is nothing wrong in always loving a person that you no longer have a relationship with. It also taught me not everything goes right in life. The main two things I learned from this song are follow your heart and always forgive. I went to a Christian school and was taught the same by the pastor. When I hear this song I hear the Angels singing to me.
